Terms of Service

These terms apply when you sign up for a course or enroll in private lessons run by Patanapasa ("Learn Thai With Ron"). Please read them before paying. By submitting the email form or paying the enrollment fee, you agree to be bound by them.

1. Who we are

"Learn Thai With Ron" is a Thai language learning service operated by Patanapasa, based in Chiang Mai, Thailand. In these terms, "we", "us", and "our" mean Patanapasa. "You" means the individual using the site or enrolled in a course.

2. The service

We offer two products:

• 10-Week Group Thai Course — a fixed-cohort series of live group classes delivered via Zoom, plus access to course materials, a Line group, and recorded replays for the duration of the cohort.
• Private Lessons — one-on-one Thai language tutoring delivered via Zoom on a schedule agreed between you and the instructor.

The site itself (this landing page, signup form, and informational pages) is provided free of charge.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use this service. If you are between 16 and the age of majority in your country, you confirm that you have your parent or guardian's permission to enroll. We do not knowingly accept students under 16.

4. Enrollment and payment

Enrollment in a paid course is confirmed only after payment is received in full. We use Stripe to process payments; by paying you agree to Stripe's own terms of service. Course fees are listed in Thai Baht on the enrollment page. The current 10-Week Group Course fee is 4,999 THB; private lesson rates are quoted directly.

Submitting your email through the signup form does not enroll you or reserve a seat. It only adds you to our list to be reminded when the next cohort begins. Your seat is reserved when payment clears.

5. Refund policy

We want you to be confident in your decision. Our refund terms:

• Before the first class: If you change your mind before the first session of your cohort begins, you may request a full refund. Email us at contact@patanapasa.com. Refunds typically arrive within 5–10 business days, processed via Stripe back to your original payment method.
• After the first class but within the first week: A pro-rata refund equal to the unused portion of the course, minus a 500 THB administrative fee, is available on request.
• After the first week of the course has elapsed: No refund. The course materials, recordings, and methodology have all been delivered by then.
• Missed sessions: Are not refundable. Recordings are made available to enrolled students who miss a live session.
• Cancellations by us: If we cancel or reschedule a class, we will give you as much notice as possible. If we cancel the entire cohort, a full refund will be issued for the unused portion.

6. Your obligations as a student

• Provide a valid email and check it regularly for class info, Zoom links, and reminders.
• Be on time and prepared. Recordings exist for review, not as a substitute for live attendance.
• Ensure your own internet connection and device are adequate for Zoom — we cannot be responsible for technical issues on your end.
• Respect the other students. Disruptive or harassing behavior is grounds for removal without refund. See our Participation Guidelines.
• Do not share Zoom links, recordings, or course materials with anyone outside the enrolled cohort. See section 7.

7. Intellectual property

All course materials — including but not limited to slide decks, worksheets, lesson outlines, the methodology, and class recordings — remain the intellectual property of Patanapasa. You are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-commercial license to use them for your own learning during and after the course. You may not redistribute, re-sell, post publicly, or use these materials to teach others without our written permission.

Patanapasa, "Learn Thai With Ron", "30 Thai Words A Week", the cartoon logo, and the wordmarks used on this site are trademarks of Patanapasa.

8. Recording consent

Group sessions are recorded by default so that students who miss a class can catch up. By joining a session you consent to being recorded. If your face or voice ever appears in promotional or public-facing content derived from a class, we will redact, blur, or alter it so that you are not identifiable, unless you have given us specific written permission to use your unaltered likeness.

9. Limitation of liability

The course is provided "as is". We will use reasonable skill and care to deliver it, but to the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from your use of the service.
• Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is capped at the amount you paid us for the course in the 12 months preceding the claim.
• Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (e.g. gross negligence, fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence).

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms (for example, sharing recordings publicly, or harassing other students). In cases of fraud or serious breach, no refund will be issued. You may stop using the service at any time by emailing us.

11. Privacy

How we collect, use, and protect your personal data is covered in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. The effective date at the top of the page will reflect the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated to active students by email. Continued enrollment after a change indicates acceptance.

13. Governing law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. The courts of Chiang Mai have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms. We prefer to resolve any disagreement directly and amicably — please write to us first at contact@patanapasa.com and give us a reasonable opportunity to make it right before pursuing formal action.
